Mystery Designer: Tobias Chair by...????

Just Guess. Take a second and guess where this chair is from and how much it costs. Then check below the jump.

It's from IKEA! Brand new, it's designed by Carl Öjerstam and is $89.99. Its super slick design would make for a very easy way to add a mod touch to a home office, dining table or perhaps in a pair flanking a console in a living room.

We heard about it first from AT Reader MonicaLM in the comment thread of Sarah's "Invisible Room" post earlier this week. She wrote: "I just bought the new Ikea "Tobias" chair for my desk last weekend and I absolutely love it:

It's super comfortable (I've sat in the ghost chair - love the way it looks but not how it feels) and even looks great with my less-than-mod desk!"

When we clicked through to IKEA from Monica's link, we were impressed and decided the chair was worth a closer look...any thoughts on the design?

saw it in ikea nearby; looks fantastic, felt comfortable _enough_ - wouldn't use it for a full time desk chair, though.

This chair is $120 in Canada... but our dollar is on par with the US dollar now! :(

I just checked and it's in stock at my local Ikea (Woodbridge, VA just South of DC) and it's $89.99. WOOT!

Looks like the Paulistano chair I just got as a wedding/birthday/Christmas gift. Can't beat the price, at $89, for the price of the Palistano you could get 18 of these!

Oh! Think of the possibilities of applying decals to the back and bottom...like Blik or the Ferm Living "Branches":
